Two former Cincinnati Bengals roommates get together on the latest episode of In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics.
A multi-sport athlete at Villa Park High School in California, Pat McInally turned down playing basketball at UCLA under legendary coach John Wooden to play football at Harvard.
At Harvard, McInally would become a two-time football first-team All-Ivy League performer before being drafted in the 1975 NFL Draft.
Leading up to the draft, McInally scored the only recorded perfect score on the famed Wonderlic test, then was drafted in the fifth round of the draft by the Bengals. However, his start in professional football was delayed when he suffered a broken leg in the College All-Star Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, missing the 1975 season.
He returned in 1976 and played his entire career with the Bengals ending in 1985. After his playing career ended, McInally conceived the Starting Lineup series of Action Figures with Cincinnati-based Kenner.
McInally talks about his life on and off the field, why he's excited about the return of the Starting Lineup series with Hasbro, and how he and his family are still big fans of the Bengals with huge expectations in 2022.

Dave Lapham was on hand when the Cincinnati Bengals took the field on Wednesday to open training camp for the 2022 NFL season.
In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, is happy to provide insight on the Bengals as they work to defend their AFC North title and AFC Championship in 2022.
In this episode, we talk about the two biggest names missing from the field, quarterback Joe Burrow and safety Jessie Bates. While both players are missing for different reasons, is there really anything to worry about this early in camp?
Things didn't go as planned for running back Elijah Holyfield, who was carted off the field with an injury. With Burrow out, Brandon Allen and Jake Browning are getting reps they usually would not receive.
With Bates missing, Vonn Bell has stepped up his leadership role in leading Dax Hill and Tycen Anderson, two defenders drafted this spring.
Along the offensive line, Alex Cappa returned while La'el Collins is still sidelined with a back issue.
After coming off big seasons, wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins look ready to take their games up another notch.
We also discuss some of the upcoming content getting ready to drop on In The Trenches.

The Cincinnati Bengals have opened training camp and Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo took time out of his busy day to talk about expectations from his defensive squad.
With safety Jessie Bates missing the start of training camp as he holds out not wanting to sign the franchise tag that will pay him $12.9 million this season, Anarumo knows it will open up reps from the three newest members of the Bengals secondary, Dax Hill, Cam Taylor-Britt, and Tycen Anderson.
While Anarumo has confidence in Bates joining the team sooner than later, he's excited to get Joseph Ossai and Wyatt Hubert on the field after both players missed their rookie seasons with injuries last season.
Always a great guest on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, Bengals fans won't want to miss the latest visit from Coach Anarumo.

While the story of the life and career of Cincinnati Bengals tight end coach James Casey is still being written, the path from Azle, Texas, to the NFL held many twists and turns.
Casey, who suffered heartache early in life with the loss of his mother, found love and support from those around him in his hometown as he went from high school multi-sport athlete to a seventh-round pick in the 2003 MLB draft by the Chicago White Sox's.
After three baseball seasons, Casey turned his attention back to football, attending Rice University. He quickly turned heads with a freshman season where he started four games, recording 46 receptions for 585 yards and four touchdowns. However, one game may have set his path to the NFL when, against Southern Mississippi, Casey played seven different positions against the Golden Eagles.
In his second season, Casey started 13 games at the tight end position setting single-season school records and multiple NCAA records for tight ends with 111 receptions for 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns before entering the 2009 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Houston Texans in the fifth round of the draft.
Casey was not just about the games on the field; he also excelled in the game of life, graduating from Rice with a triple major (Economics, Sports Management, and Managerial Studies) with a 3.84 GPA.
After an NFL career with the Texans (2009-2012), Philadelphia Eagles (2013-2014), and Denver Broncos (2015), Casey jumped into the world of football coaching as an offensive assistant with Tom Herman, a coach he knew from his days at Rice and now the Cougars head coach.
This is Part One of Two with Coach Casey on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics.
