Doug Dieken started his football career as a wide receiver in high school before playing tight end at the University of Illinois. However, after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 6th round of the 1971 NFL Draft, Dieken became a left tackle who would play until 1984 while starting 194 straight games and playing in 203 consecutive games. After his playing career, Dieken became a color commentator on the Browns radio broadcasts, a job he still holds today.

Dave Lapham - My Rant on NFL Officials After Call On Cincinnati Bengals Corner Mike Hilton

In the end, no one play or call will cost a team a win. However, a call during the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets game against Bengals corner Mike Hilton did keep the Bengals from having a chance to change the outcome in their 34-31 loss to the Jets.
Each week and each season there seem to be more and more calls by NFL officials that upset fans. Many hoped when the replay system was installed, mistakes made by officials would be reduced. However, in the NFL and at the college level, there seem to be more and more questionable calls made leaving fans questioning how the NFL continues to have issues each week.
While my rant won't in this episode of In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics won't change the outcome, I had to get my thoughts off my chest.
