The final week of the NFL regular season is now over, with the Cincinnati Bengals on an eight-game winning streak after beating the Baltimore Ravens 27-16 at Paycor Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Bengals finished with the No. 3 seed and will welcome back John Harbaugh and the Ravens for their Wild Card game on Sunday night at 8:15 pm on NBC and the First Star Logistics Bengals Radio Network.
Joe Burrow and the offense were not sharp, only posting 257 total yards of offense as Burrow went 25 of 42 for 215 yards and one touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase. Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine combined for 17 carries for 45 yards and a Mixon touchdown.
The Bengals' defense gave up 386 yards but posted four sacks and two interceptions while also recovering two fumbles, including a Joseph Ossai touchdown after Trey Hendrickson stripped Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown.
One primary concern is the injury to Bengals right guard Alex Cappa who might be out for the rest of the season. Adding Cappa to the loss of La'el Collins a few weeks ago means the Bengals will need another player to step forward and fill the need.
Dave Lapham was on the call for the game and jumped In The Trenches, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss the win, season, and upcoming rematch in the Wild Card round against the Ravens.

Saturday Dec 31, 2022
Saturday Dec 31, 2022
For Eric Wood, growing up on the West side of Cincinnati had him watching the Bengals and listening to Dave Lapham. So after his successful high school career at Elder High School, Wood headed to the University of Louisville, where he became one of the top centers in the nation.
While there was hope he would become a member of the Bengals, Wood received the call from the Buffalo Bills and started a nine-year NFL career he was forced to abandon because of a career-ending injury discovered during his post-season physical.
After being away from the game for a year, Wood became the Bills' radio color analyst in 2019.
Leading up to Monday Night Football's big match-up between the Bills and Bengals, Wood lined up In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, talking about growing up in Cincinnati, talks with the Bengals pre-draft, his career in Buffalo, and the big match-up between Josh Allen and Joe Burrow that will take center stage Monday night.

Dave Lapham - The Passing Of Longtime Rival Franco Harris
Thursday Dec 29, 2022
Thursday Dec 29, 2022
Before college football became all about Power Five Conferences, football on the East Coast was some of the most competitive and led by several Hall of Fame coaches.
While it may seem complicated to believe today, there was a time when Syracuse versus Penn State was for bragging rights in the Eastern part of the country.
My college coach, Ben Schwartzwalder, battled Nittany Lion coaches Rip Engle and Joe Paterno during his long coaching career in some epic battles.
Before arriving on the Syracuse campus, Franco Harris was on the campus of Penn State, making plays for Paterno and the Nittany Lions. Because of the old NCAA rules when first-year students didn't play, I'd seen Harris make plays and would compete against his Nittany Lions squad my sophomore year, which was his senior year. This was the start of a longtime rivalry between our teams.
Harris would become a first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1972 NFL Draft, and a few years later, Paul Brown and the Cincinnati Bengals drafted me in the third round of the 1974 NFL Draft.
For my ten seasons with the Bengals, we played the Steelers 20 times, with the Bengals earning eight wins against a Steelers squad that would win four Super Bowls, with many Steelers feeling Franco was the glue to their success.
After the 1983 season, the Steelers felt Franco had seen his better days and allowed him to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, where he ended his career in 1984.
I left the Bengals after the 1983 season, where I would play two years in the USFL for the New Jersey Generals before ending my playing career. Shortly after, started a career in broadcasting as a color analyst with the Bengals in 1986.
While Franco Harris was a longtime rival, he was also a great man off the field who touched many by giving his time and energy for the betterment of all.
Harris was more than just part of one of the greatest plays in NFL history, the "Immaculate Reception," and I wanted to take time on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to pay tribute to one of football's all-time greats, Franco Harris.

Lap’s Amazing Account On Bengals Plane Making An Emergency Landing
Wednesday Dec 28, 2022
Wednesday Dec 28, 2022
The Cincinnati Bengals were in a great mood as they prepared for their return flight home after beating Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, 22-18, to finish out a perfect November and December with a seven-game winning streak.
It was Christmas Eve, and all was right as players were ready to get home early to start their holiday celebrations with friends and family.
However, shortly after the team plane left Rhode Island, an engine on their Delta jet failed, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at JFK in New York City and stopping everyone's celebrations.
Get the inside story on what happened on the Bengals flight back to Cincinnati in a special In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics.

Dave Lapham Postgame Thoughts | Cincinnati Bengals Down New England Patriots
Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Another big week on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, as the Cincinnati Bengals earned their spot in the AFC playoffs while looking to extend their winning streak to seven games by taking on another "Goat" Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
Unlike last weekend, Joe Burrow and the Bengals' offense was firing on all cylinders in the first half of the game, putting up 22 points, while Lou Anarumo had the defense dialed in, shutting out Mac Jones and the Patriots' offense for a 22-0 lead at the half.
But as good as Burrow and the Bengals' offense was at the start, things stalled as Belichick sprinkled his special magic dust as his defense posted the first Patriots points in the third quarter on a 69-yard interception return for a touchdown and then saw Jones throw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to trail the Bengals 22-18.
The Bengals' offense placed the defense on the ropes. Still, Anarumo saw D.J. Reader, Vonn Bell, and B.J. Hill working to force and recover a fumble when it looked like Belichick was about to add another career win over the Bengals in the closing seconds of the game.
While the offense continued to struggle, the Bengals' defense made one more stand after a great directional punt by Drue Chrisman to close the door on the Patriots, post their seventh consecutive win, and move to 11-4 with two weeks left in the regular season against the AFC leading Buffalo Bills and AFC North rival the Baltimore Ravens.

Laps Keys To Bengals Victory New England Patriots
Friday Dec 23, 2022
Friday Dec 23, 2022
Week 16 of the NFL season is here, along with the holidays.
The Cincinnati Bengals (10-4) have now clinched a spot in the playoffs but look to keep their winning streak going against the New England Patriots (7-7) and another "GOAT" in Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on Saturday.
With goals of winning the AFC North and still with a chance to earn the top overall seed in the AFC, Zac Taylor and the Bengals will look to #RuleTheJungle at Gillette Stadium.
Belichick brings a team smarting after their stunning loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in a very un-Belichick way.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow knows despite their 7-7 record, Belichick and the Patriots are not a team to take lightly and will look to keep the offense humming as they did against Tampa Bay last Sunday.
However, injuries continue to mount, especially on the defensive side, with defensive end, Sam Hubbard already ruled out for the game and Cam Taylor-Britt and others with question marks beside their names leading up to the NFL scheduled kickoff of 1:00 p.m. eastern.
This week on our YouTube channel on In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, we've heard from Coach Taylor ( https://youtu.be/ZADHICjHjYo ) - Burrow ( https://youtu.be/ZtpFriwBi_0 ) - and his father, Jimmy Burrow ( https://youtu.be/o4Z63vKSVK8 ) along with a Livestream from the First Star Logistics studio on Tuesday ( https://youtu.be/Hz4PwyeZWPw ) leading up to the game.
Now, Lap gives you his Keys To Bengals Victory as pressure mounts to win a seventh consecutive game to stay at the top of the AFC North and make next week's match-up against the Buffalo Bills mean that much more when the Bengals will take the national stage on Monday Night Football.

Jimmy Burrow | This Bengals Squad Is Resilient
Thursday Dec 22, 2022
Thursday Dec 22, 2022
For Jimmy Burrow, watching his son play at the game's highest level is a treat. The former college football defensive coordinator understands the game differently than most parents of pro football players but knows when a team has something special. The 2022 Cincinnati Bengals, with his son, Joe Burrow, at quarterback, is one such team as they've taken a poor start of the season and turned it into the hottest team in the NFL with three regular-season games remaining.
The coach in him also knows that while the Bengals offense gets a lot of the praise and credit for the team's success, defense is a significant component to winning championships, and with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo at the helm, this Bengals squad is resilient in all phases of the game.
We welcome back to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, Jimmy Burrow, as he and Lap breakdown the Bengals' field success despite critical injuries to D.J. Reader, Trey Hendrickson, Ja'Marr Chase, Mike Hilton, Josh Tupou, Hayden Hurst and season-ending injuries to Chidobe Awuzie, Clark Harris, and Drew Sample.
Watch until the end as Coach Burrow and Lap talk about the win over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Saturday's match-up against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots as the Bengals go for their seventh consecutive win.
Also, learn more about the Joe Burrow Foundation (https://joeburrow.org/) led by Joe and his parents.
