The Cincinnati Bengals took one on the chin as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens on the road 19-17. Despite running back Joe Mixon having his best game of the season, and Joe Burrow leading the offense in what many felt would be the game-winning touchdown drive, it was Lamar Jackson setting up the "GOAT" of all kickers and future Hall of Famer, Justin Tucker with a 43-yard field goal as time expired.
Dave Lapham spoke with Dave Berk following the game to give his postgame thoughts about the loss and what the Bengals must do as they return to the road next Sunday for a match-up with the New Orleans Saints.
First Star Logistics presented Dave Lapham In The Trenches.

The NFL season enters Week Five with the Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) on the road for a primetime AFC North match-up against the Baltimore Ravens (2-2), pitting Joe Burrow against Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens enter with a 27-25 advantage in the series. However, the Bengals impressively won both contests last season.
Can Burrow and the Bengals snap their history of poor performances on Sunday night, having played 19 times in primetime but going 3-16, including losing nine straight?
Dave Lapham gets In The Trenches, presented by First Star Logistics, to give you several keys to watch for if the Bengals are to continue their winning ways against the Ravens.

Thursday Oct 06, 2022
Longtime Baltimore Ravens radio play-by-play man Gerry Sandusky returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to give all the details of what Cincinnati Bengals fans should expect when the Bengals head to M&T Stadium for their primetime NFL match-up with Lamar Jackson and the 2022 edition of the Ravens.
Sandusky has ties to the Brown family as his father, John Sandusky, played for Paul Brown when he was in charge of the Cleveland Browns in the 1950s.
Jackson gets the majority of the attention when talking about the Ravens. However, he's got some weapons, especially tight end Mark Andrews.
The defense has always been a staple of the Ravens attack. Nothing has changed with defensive end Calais Campbell leading the way up front and Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey looking to close down the back side to Joe Burrow and the Bengals passing attack.

Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras knows the success of the past two weeks has been uplifting to fans and the team. However, he also knows there is no time to bask in the recent success as the Baltimore Ravens will be looking to get back at the Bengals after dropping both games in 2021.
Karras returned to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss earning a captain role for his second NFL team, working with new teammates Alex Cappa, La'el Collins, Jonah Williams, and rookie Cordell Volson.
Learn more about the Ravens and some key battles Karras expects to see on Sunday night.

It was an exciting night at Paycor Stadium as the Cincinnati Bengals looked to knock the Miami Dolphins from the ranks of the undefeated.
In a sea of white, the Bengals, with their "White Tiger" look, saw their defense come up big as Vonn Bell had two interceptions while Joe Burrow and the offense came up with some big plays highlighted by the biggest play so far this season on a Tee Higgins 59-yard touchdown strike in a one-on-match-up against Dolphins Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard.
This game saw all three phases step forward as rookie Jeff Gunter blocked a Jason Sanders 52-yard field goal attempt.
After the game, Dave Lapham joined Dave Berk on In The Trenches presented by First Star Logistics to give his thoughts as the Bengals move to 2-2 on the season.

In Week Four of the NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals return to Paycor Stadium with a lot of excitement surrounding the game.
Not only will the Bengals be wearing their special color rush alternate uniform "White Bengal" combination, but each endzone will also have a unique look as well. Add in the 2022 Bengals Ring of Honor Ceremony and the fact the Dolphins are the only remaining undefeated team in the AFC, and you can see why Cincinnati will be hyped on Thursday night.
The Bengals come in after earning their first win of the season against the New York Jets last Sunday, and the short week makes this an even harder match-up.
The Dolphins are coming off a hard-fought win over their AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills, in extreme heat conditions that could have lingering repercussions.
The match-up also puts two of the top young quarterbacks, both taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow being the overall number one pick and Tua Tagovailoa going to the Dolphins with the fifth pick of the draft.
Here are my Keys To Bengals Victory, Miami Dolphins edition, presented by First Star Logistics.

Sunday Sep 25, 2022
Sunday Sep 25, 2022
The Cincinnati Bengals earned their first win of the 2022 season with a 27-12 victory over the New York Jets on the road.
With great performances on both sides of the ball, Dave Lapham gave his postgame thoughts on the win as Logan Wilson, Trey Hendrickson, and Jessie Bates III make huge plays on defense. At the same time, the offense struck fast behind the arm of Joe Burrow and his big three receivers, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and Ja'Marr Chase, along with some old fashion power running to close the game with Samaje Perine and the Bengals offensive line.
What did Lap talk with Dave Berk about before boarding the bus to head back to Cincinnati on In The Trenches presented by First Star Logistics?

Saturday Sep 24, 2022
In Week Three of the NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets, who are coming off a come-from-behind win over the Cleveland Browns.
The Bengals and Jets have met each other 28 times, including two postseason games, with the Jets leading the match-up with 18 wins to the Bengals 10.
Last season, the Jets came away with a 34-31 win over the Bengals as backup quarterback Mike White went 37-of-45 for 405 yards and three touchdowns. This game will see another backup quarterback face the Bengals. However, the backup, Joe Flacco, owns a Super Bowl he won with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bengals come to New York banged up as right tackle La'el Collins and tight end Hayden Hurst are both listed as questionable. Linebacker Germaine Pratt is listed as doubtful after not participating in practice on Friday.
Can Joe Burrow put the past two weeks behind him and return to the form he showed last season?
Will the offensive line show why ownership invested big money to protect Burrow?
Has cover two become Burrow's kryptonite this season?

Cincinnati Bengals assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss the rough start to the 2022 season as the Bengals lost Clark Harris in Week One against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the season.
With Mitch Wilcox forced into emergency action against the Steelers, Simmons and the Bengals had built a trust level with college undrafted free agent Cal Adomitis, and the Bengals were able to ride out the storm until Week Two against the Dallas Cowboys.
Simmons talks about the season's first two games and looks at Week Three opponent, the New York Jets.

In Week Two of the NFL season, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to Jerry World to take on the Dallas Cowboys, who are also smarting after falling 19-3 to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Cowboys lead the series with nine victories and four defeats, with the first match-up coming in 1973 and the last, a 30-7 Cowboys win over the Bengals, as former quarterback Andy Dalton led the Cowboys with 185 yards passing and two touchdowns.
Joe Burrow was already out for the season when these two teams squared off in December of 2020, and now he's coming off his worst game as a pro.
Both teams need a win to get their season headed in the right direction, and there are several key areas the Bengals must address if they want to have a happy flight back to Cincinnati on Sunday night.
Here is my Dave Lapham In The Trenches, Keys to Bengals Victory, Dallas Cowboys edition, presented by First Star Logistics.
