Shuffling to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics is former Cincinnati Bengals running back Ickey Woods.
To say Ickey Woods took Cincinnati by storm during his rookie year of 1988 is an understatement. Woods would set a then franchise rookie record of 1,066 rushing yards in helping the Bengals reach Super Bowl XXIII. However, it would be his end zone dance, the "Ickey Shuffle" that had America talking and Bengals owner Paul Brown dancing.
Ickey talks about his youth in Fresno, California, prep athletic career, and college career that led him to become a Bengals and the NFL member.
He'll also talk about how the Ickey Shuffle came to be and the disappointment in the Bengals loss on and off the field in Super Bowl XXIII to the San Francisco 49ers.
As fast as Ickey Woods hit the NFL, injuries would sideline him with two knee injuries.
Ickey Woods has tackled the ups and downs of life with the same energy and passion he attacked opposing defenders. Learn what Ickey is up to now and more in this special In The Trenches with Dave Lapham and Elbert L. "Ickey" Woods.
